We’re celebrating The Week That Changed The World!
Today is Good Friday
Our text tonight:
John 1:29: Behold(Look)! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
John’s ministry was to point people to Jesus! (Look to Jesus!) That’s my heart too, that we would behold Jesus this evening; that we would look to Jesus!
John 1:29: Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
What does that mean?
In the Old Testament we first see the establishing of sacrifices in Genesis 3.
Genesis 3:21: For Adam and his wife the Lord God made tunics of skin, and clothed them.
A sacrifice for a couple!
In the book of Exodus 12:3, a sacrifice for a family!
Leviticus 16 describes The Day Of Atonement
Leviticus 16 A SACRIFICE for the nation.
- A SACRIFICE for a couple
- A SACRIFICE for a family
- A SACRIFICE for the nation
- A SACRIFICE for the whole world
John 1:29: Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
Jesus died for the sins of the whole world!
Does that mean the whole world is saved?
What Jesus accomplished is only yours when you:
- Turn
- Trust
- Believe
- Receive
Jesus’ blood is sufficient to pay for the sins of the world.
But Jesus’ blood is only efficient for those have truly believed in Him!
John 1:29: Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
ONCE FOR ALL
Our Response is ALL FOR YOU
