Job 2:11
Now when Job’s three friends heard of all this adversity that had come upon him, each one came from his own place – Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite. For they had made an appointment together to come and mourn with him, and to comfort him.
Who are your three closest friends?
It’s wisdom to be purposeful to invest in close friendships!
He who has friends is rich!
1 Samuel 23:16
And Saul’s son Jonathan went to David at Horesh and helped him find strength in God.

And when they raised their eyes from afar, and did not recognize him, they lifted their voices and wept; and each one tore his robe and sprinkled dust on his head toward heaven.
Job 3:13
So they sat down with him on the ground seven days and seven nights, and no one spoke a word to him, for they saw that his grief was very great.
Job 6:14
“To him who is afflicted, kindness should be shown by his friend, even though he forsakes the fear of the Almighty.”
Job 6:15, 17
My brothers have dealt deceitfully like a brook, like the streams of the brooks that pass away. When it is warm, they cease to flow; when it is hot, they vanish from their place.
Job 13:4-5
But you forgers of lies, you are all worthless physicians. Oh, that you would be silent , and it would be your wisdom.
Job 16:2
Miserable comforters are you all!
Job 19:14
My relatives have failed, and my close friends have forgotten me.
Job 19:19
All my close friends abhor me, and those whom I love have turned against me.
There is a Friend that’s even closer than a brother who will never fail you!
What a friend we have in Jesus!
What a friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear.
And what a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer
Oh, what peace we often forfeit.
Oh, what needless pain we bear.
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer
Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged;
Take it to the Lord in prayer
Can we find a friend so faithful?
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness.
Take it to the Lord in prayer
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms, He’ll take and shield thee,
Thou wilt find a solace there.
Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised
Thou wilt all our burdens bear.
May we ever, Lord, be bringing
All to Thee in earnest prayer.
Soon in glory bright, unclouded,
There will be no need for prayer—
Rapture, praise, and endless worship
Will be our sweet portion there.
