1. Don’t Fear!
The most repeated command in the Bible – 70 Times!
Fear ALWAYS fears the worst!
Genesis 15:1: After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.”
Psalm 23:4: Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
Psalm 56:3: Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.
Isaiah 41:10: Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.
2 Timothy 1:7: For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
1 John 4:18: Perfect love casts out fear!
2. Don’t Worry
Matthew 6:25: Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?
Matthew 6:26: Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
Matthew 6:27: Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature (one hour to his life)?
Matthew 6:28-29: So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
Matthew 6:30: Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, Oh you of little faith?
Matthew 6:31-32: Therefore do not worry, saying, “What shall we eat?” or “What shall we drink?” or “What shall we wear?” For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Matthew 6:34: Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
Worry affects the circulation, the heart, the glands, the whole nervous system. -Charles Horace Mayo
Psalm 34:8: Do not fret, it only causes harm.
Worrying reveals we’re being mastered by our circumstances!
What’s the opposite of worrying? Trust!
3. Pray
Philippians 4:6: Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.
Pray:
-
- Before you turn the TV on in the morning
- Before you turn phone on in the morning
- Before you go to bed
- When you wash your hands, pray for 20 seconds. Change the world!
- Start going for a prayer walk everyday
- Learn how to pray without ceasing
- National Day of Prayer: when this message is over pray together
- If you’re alone, invite a few others to join you next Sunday for our livestream. (This is our new normal for a while.)
4. His Peace
Philippians 4:6-7: Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s PEACE, which exceeds anything we can understand. His PEACE will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
John 14:27: PEACE I leave with you, My PEACE I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
5. Keep Our Eyes Fixed On Jesus!
Hebrews 12:1: Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with endurance the race marked out for us.
Hebrews 12:2-3: Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, despising its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider Him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
Make sure that every day you say the name of Jesus more then the word corona!
The coronavirus is NOT ruling my life! Jesus is my King!
Let’s Hail Him!
