Pleasing God
John 8:29
John 8:29 And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him.”
Everything Jesus did… flowed out of an intimate relationship withHis Father. (Modeling this for us.)
At the very core of that intimacy…Jesus’ HEART was.. I do ALWAYS do those things that PLEASE the Father
God wants that to be our heart too… at the core of our relationship with Him…as we go into this new year
Jesus is our EXAMPLE (John 13, 1 Peter, 1 John)
In a fresh way! In a simple way! In a restored way!
Luke 3:22 The Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from heaven which said, “You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.
The MESSAGE of the N.T. is… IN JESUS… we too are well pleasing to God.
Positionally- The Bible calls this justification.
Practically- From the day we’re genuinely justified the Holy Spirit begins actively working in our lives… a work of sanctification. (Explain)
